    Tri-Service JROTC Field Meet
The St. James Shark Battalion competed in the 1st Inaugural Tri-Service JROTC Field Meet at Playcard Environmental Education Center this past Saturday. Boy was it a great meet!  The kids had a lot of fun and got super dirty and muddy!
The Cadets continued in Rocking the House and placed first in the Challenge Course and Fire Starting and 2nd in Primitive Weapons.  We struggled in the tug of war because we just didn’t have the girth that some of these other schools have.  We tied for 2nd place out of 7 schools that participated.

Athlete of the Week: Wolff makes wave in, out of pool

Max was awarded a medal at the State Swim Meet for his six-year participation and inspiration for the Sharks swim team at the SCHSL Swimming Championships.

The video linked below will place a smile on your heart!
Max Wolfe is a senior at St. James HS and is a 19 year old Down Syndrome Shark student-athlete. Max has participated on our swim team since he was eligible his 7th grade year. The rule states that once a student turns 19 before July 1 they automatically become ineligible for sports.
After much thought and planning with Mr. Pennell together we requested a hardship for Max  . He turned 19 in March of this year.
Our plan went towards "inclusion" and the SCHSL executive committee approved his swim participation on August 3rd with specific guidelines for us to follow:
Max competes as a SJ Shark against the clock. He is the only one in the pool. He is not on our list for eligibility. He is simply included and is swimming forward like we do everyday as Sharks!
I just had to share with all of you ... Max is the man, the rock star and now a true celebrity. He will swim all season against the clock and represent what we do best and that is "Inclusion" as a Shark swimmer!
He was  also recognized at the AAAA state championships in Columbia!
