Dear 8th grade Parents and Students,
The South Carolina Education and Economic Development Act (EEDA) was signed into law in September of 2005 and aims to give South Carolina students the educational tools they need to build prosperous, successful futures.
EEDA is a team effort with parents, students, teachers and school counselors, where we join together to set career goals and develop individual graduation plans. We review and discuss career clusters, test scores, and high school goals. This is a requirement by the EEDA.
In order to fulfill this requirement, we are now in the process of scheduling Individual Graduation Plan meetings for our parents and students starting January 2024 until April 1st. During the meeting, we will answer any follow up questions you have regarding the Transition to High School & Beyond presentation that was sent out in November. Please be sure and watch the presentation AND complete the 9th grade course request form that was sent out on December 6th prior to your student's IGP meeting.

Ms. Cara LaPier will conduct IGP meetings for students whose last name begins with A-E. (clapier@horrycountyschools.net) or 843-488-8970.
Mrs. Cassandra Beale will conduct IGP meetings for students whose last name begins with F-L. (cbeale@horrycountyschools.net) or 843-488-8978.
Mrs. Tammy Goodman will conduct IGP meetings for students whose last name begins with M-Z. (tgoodman@horrycountyschools.net)
Mrs. Stephanie Kingsmore will conduct IGP meetings for all students who have an IEP or 504. (skingsmore@horrycountyschools.net) or 843-488-8969

Thursday, May 9th- SC Ready Writing
Tuesday, May 14th- SC Ready Reading
Thursday, May 16th- SC Ready Math
Tuesday, May 21st - SC Ready Science (6th graders only)
Tuesday, May 21st- Algebra I Honors EOC
*Students will NOT be allowed to have cell phones, smart watches, or other electronic devices during testing.
