Each week at Ocean Bay Middle School, one student is named Student of the Week. Teachers nominate students who demonstrate excellent behavior at school. They are asked to nominate students who go above and beyond in class. One student will be selected each week and announced on Mondays on the School News. The student's picture will be on display ALL school year in the library window. Students selected will receive a small gift from the library and at the end of the school year their names go into a drawing for a gift card.

Jolie Vu - Wk. 24
Nominated by Ms. Shanice Pinckney who says, "Jolie Vu is a very hard-working student. She started the violin just this year and has excelled. She is dedicated to practicing so that she can get better. Jolie is friendly with her classmates and wants to be successful with anything that she does." Congratulations Jolie! -
Bruin Slaughter - Wk. 23
Nominated by Mr. Tyler Woodson who says, "Bruin is an incredible young man who displays our school motto, "Excellence is the Expectation" every day. He does this by coming to school ready to work with a smile on his face. He also cares not only about his own well-being, but also the well-being of his peers and teachers." Congratulations Bruin!

Ava works very hard both in and out of the classroom; keeping high grades while balancing sports and family. Our OBMS Student of the Week nomination comes from Mrs. Jennifer Whitham. Mrs. Whitham says that this young man is, “A FANTASTIC student who is polite and respectful and always gives 110% in class. Ty Carpenter - Wk. 1
Our first Student of the Week goes to, 7th grader, Ty Carpenter who was nominated by Mrs. Lovette. Mrs. Lovette says, "Ty demonstrates the true meaning of being a Stingray. He is a compassionate classmate who is a great example of how we should treat others. He always lends a hand to fellow students and conducts himself in a positive way." Congratulations Ty on this honor and thanks for being such a great student!
