Academic Team
Academic Team
The Academic Team engages in competitions with the other district high schools. The structure of the competition is questions and answers using a buzzer system that recognizes the first responses. Questions posed included every aspect of academia (literature, history, science, mathematics) in addition to sports, popular culture, and the arts and humanities.

Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a trivia competition for students based on a selection of predetermined books. We read and practice at the school and then participate in a district-wide competition in the Spring. We have a great time discussing books, quizzing each other, and snacking while we work!
How to Join
In the fall, speak to Mrs. Neafsey or Mrs. Chestnut in the Library Learning Commons. Everyone is welcome!

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
How to Join

Have a sincere interest in business, marketing, hospitality, and/or digital communication careers

Complete at least one CTE course within your years of membership

Have and maintain a HS GPA of at least 2.5

Typical Activities
DECA’s evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.

To enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.
How to Join
HOSA welcomes new members at any time. All you need to do is contact one of the advisors and attend a meeting. You can join officially for $25 (mypaymentsplus.com) or simply be a non-official school member and participate within our community. Typical Activities
In the fall we like to sponsor fundraisers for the local community (foodbank, students in need of hygiene products, etc.) We also like to reach out to local healthcare workers and nursing homes to offer support, cheer, and gratitude.

Typical Activities:
Activities include: Homecoming celebrations, fundraising, community service, and an international food fest. This club exists to allow students with similar interests an opportunity to gather and to empower students with leadership opportunities to plan club and school events.

Young Life Club is a Christian Ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school and college students in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
Our Mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith.
Meeting - first Thursday of every month at 7:30 a.m. (before school) in the Media Center.
Activities - bible study, fellowship with new friends and community service projects.
