End Of The School Year Timeline - Countdown To Graduation
June 2 Graduation 2pm HTC Center, CCUStudents and Parents of the SJHS Class of 2023,
Congratulations on this milestone! I am so excited to celebrate with you at the St. James High School Commencement Ceremony, which will be held on Friday, June 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina University. The address for the HTC Center is 104 Founders Drive, Conway, SC, 29526.
Each student was given six tickets for their guests at graduation practice. Students that requested additional tickets were provided two extra tickets. As a reminder, anyone entering the arena for graduation, must have a ticket, regardless of age. Graduates must arrive no later than 1:30 PM in order to participate. Additionally, all bags must adhere to the clear bag policy commonly used at HCS athletic events. A copy of CCU’s clear bag policy is linked here.
Students are reminded to refer to the appropriate dress information they have received and to be sure to bring their cap, gown, and tassel with them to graduation.
Unfortunately, CCU's baseball playoffs are scheduled for the day of June 2 as well. I encourage you to arrive at the HTC Center by 1:15 p.m. Students may park in parking lots BB, CC, and DD, which are located around the residence halls on campus.
Family members and guests of the graduates should park in parking lot GG (Behind the old bookstore off the 501 entrance.) Handicap parking is available in parking lot AA. Shuttles will begin running at 12:00 PM from parking lot GG only to bring guests to the HTC Center. The shuttles will run after the ceremony to bring guests back to parking lot GG.
Please review the attached map. Please remember that parking is limited and traffic will be heavy due to the baseball games. Please don't attempt to park where you see the Xs on the map. A baseball pass is required to park in this area.
I hope you find this information helpful. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with your child this school year! I am so proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing you at tomorrow’s ceremony. Have a great evening, keep swimming forward, and as always, GO SHARKS!
