Cognia STEM Certifications

Congratulations to Carolina Forest, Green Sea Floyds, North Myrtle Beach, and Socastee High Schools on becoming Cognia STEM Certified Schools! These schools join four other HCS high schools that have already earned this distinction: Conway High, St. James High, the Academy for Technology & Academics, and the Academy for the Arts, Science & Technology.

To become STEM Certified, schools must meet standards set by Cognia, a non-profit education accreditation and assessment agency. STEM Certified schools provide students with a comprehensive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education that integrates various disciplines, encourages collaborative inquiry and self-directed learning, and prepares students for future academic and professional pursuits.
