Speech Language Services

Welcome to speech and language services for Ocean Drive Elementary School. ODE has three speech-language pathologists (SLPs) working with our students.

What are speech and language services?

Horry County Schools define speech and languages services as the following:

Articulation-sound errors

Expressive Language- using words and sentences correctly while speaking

Receptive Language- understanding of words, sentences, directions, and questions.

Fluency- stuttering; the repetition of sounds, words, and/or phrases

Voice- vocal quality, pitch, and loudness

**Only those students who qualify for speech and language services can be enrolled in speech-language therapy.**
