A Message from Our Principal

Good evening, this is Melissa Gause, Principal of Green Sea Floyds Elementary.  I hope this message finds you and your family well.  I am excited to share that Horry County Schools has developed an eLearning plan to help students remain engaged in learning while schools are closed. Every preschool through 5th grade student will be mailed a packet of grade level appropriate activities that can be completed and returned to school in lieu of attendance while schools are closed.  The packets will be mailed on Wednesday.  A parent letter with additional information is also included in the packet. The activities, as well as additional information regarding eLearning, have also been conveniently placed on the Horry County Schools website and can be accessed with any electronic device.  All activities have been created such that neither an iPad nor internet access is needed for completion.  However, should parents of students in grades 3-5 wish to check out an iPad, they must report to school and complete paperwork accepting responsibility for loss or damage for the device.  Parents who choose to accept responsibility for an iPad must report to the school this Wednesday between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, Thursday between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM, or Friday between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to complete the required paperwork.  An ID is required to sign out a device.  Schools have been ordered closed and will be inaccessible to visitors during the school closure period.  However, please do not hesitate to contact the school during regular business hours via phone or email with any questions you may have.  We miss our students and look forward to seeing them again when school resumes.
