SC Department of Education Awards Distinguished Arts Program Grant to 23 Horry County Schools
This year, 23 Horry County Schools received the Distinguished Arts Program Grant from the South Carolina Department of Education. This grant provides $18,000 to a school for one school year, which applicants use to purchase equipment, materials, and services that will provide a better experience for our students in the arts, such as storage racks for orchestra, body mics and props for choir and theatre, paints and glue for art, and private lessons funds for band. The grant also provides funds for arts teachers to attend professional development institutes and conferences of state arts associations such as the SC Music Educators Association, the SC Theatre Association, and the SC Arts Education Association.
