The Horry County Board of Education has named Dr. Rick Maxey as the Interim Superintendent effective January 1, 2015. Dr. Maxey is currently the District’s Deputy Superintendent and has worked in Horry County Schools for more than 20 years as a teacher, principal and District administrator. Current Superintendent Dr. Cindy Elsberry recently announced her plans to leave the District effective December 31, 2014.
