Brown appointed Interim Chief Officer for Support Services

Daryl Brown Daryl Brown has been appointed as the Interim Chief Officer for Support Services. He will provide a continuity of leadership for the departments of Student Affairs, Transportation, Facilities, and Food Services during the time Dr. Rick Maxey is serving as the Interim Superintendent of Schools.

Brown has worked as the Executive Director for Students Affairs since July 2012 where he developed and supervised a comprehensive program for student discipline, attendance, transfers, athletics, school safety, and emergency preparedness. He has nearly 20 years of experience as a school administrator and has been the principal at Aynor High and North Myrtle Beach High in Horry County and at neighboring Carvers Bay High in Georgetown and Kingstree Junior High in Williamsburg. Brown is a 2005 recipient of the Milken Family Foundation National Educator of the Year award.

Brown earned two post-graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina; an Educational Specialist degree in 2006 and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration in 1996. He graduated from Clemson University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education and taught three years before accepting his first administrative position.
