CCU and HCS middle schools hold "After-School Ethics & Leadership Academy"

CCU Each spring, the Jackson Family Center for Ethics & Values at CCU sponsors an ethics and leadership program for HCS middle school students. This year’s ethics and leadership academy at CCU was attended by 47 students from seven middle schools (Conway Middle, Forestbrook Middle, Aynor Middle, St. James Middle, Blackwater Middle, Ocean Bay Middle, and Whittemore Park). The students are nominated by each school for their promise as future leaders. The academy took place on CCU campus on January 31st, February 6 and February 13. The theme of this year’s academy was sustainability.

The Ethics & Leadership Academy is designed to offer students a place for discussion and to develop an awareness of the importance of character and leadership for their lives. Throughout the three events, middle school students are involved in small group discussions, facilitated by Dr. Nils Rauhut, Director of the Jackson Family Center and by Jackson Scholars from the University.
