Mary Quinn Fullwood, a senior at Myrtle Beach High School, has been selected as the 2020 Work-Based Learning Student of the Year for the Waccamaw Region. Fullwood is one of 12 regional winners designated by the South Carolina Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technology Education as a student who exemplifies the application of academic learning to real life, real work, and real-world situations within a business and industry environment. Fullwood and other regional winners will be recognized at the South Carolina Business Education Summit on July 20 in Greenville, from which one will be designated as the South Carolina Work-Based Learning Student of the Year.
Fullwood has been an exceptional student in Myrtle Beach High School’s Sports Medicine Program and participated in work-based learning last fall with the Womens’ Soccer Team at Coastal Carolina University. After graduation, Fullwood will attend Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, to pursue studies in sports medicine.
