Green Sea Floyds High Wins FFA State Contest!
Green Sea Floyds High Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter won this year's State FFA Nursery-Landscape Contest. The recent announcement was made during the virtual 91st Annual South Carolina FFA Convention. The team included Alex Buffkin, Jazmine Carroll, Josh Gore, and Sarah Hewitt, and the team’s advisor was Mr. Lee Mayfield, Horticulture Instructor. The purpose of the contest is to test student’s skills in aspects of maintaining landscape plants and related products, evaluating equipment and services, and landscape design. This was the second time in three years that Green Sea Floyds High has won this contest.
FFA is an intra-curricular student organization for those interested in agriculture leadership. It is one of the three components of agricultural education. To learn more about the South Carolina FFA Association, click here.
