Student Council Election Information

. All applications are due no later than August 31st.  September 4th through 7th will be Campaign Week and we will be voting on September 7th during Tribe Time. Winners will be announced on the afternoon announcements.   Below is a list of the responsibilities and roles for each position. Please contact me if you have any questions. President (8th Graders Only):

  • Lead all meetings
  • Give assistance, guidance, and praise
  • Act as a facilitator during discussion
  • Work with the advisor on all planning
  • Participate in student council sponsored activities/events
  • Read the morning announcements! All announcements will be televised this year!

Vice President (8th Graders Only):

  • Work closely with President
  • Assume President’s duties when needed
  • Work with President and Treasurer in preparing calendar and budget
  • Assist the President in preparing meeting agendas
  • Participate in student council sponsored activities/events
  • Read the morning announcements!  All announcements will be televised this year!

Treasurer (7th Graders Only):

  • Oversee council expenses and revenues
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed financial record
  • Authorize payment/deposits with the advisor
  • Work with President and Vice President in preparing calendar and budget
  • Participate in student council sponsored activities/events
  • Read the afternoon announcements!  All announcements will be televised this year!

Secretary (7th Graders Only):

  • Keep an account of minutes at every meeting
  • Keep an accurate account of attendance at every meeting
  • Help maintain student council files
  • Maintain contact information for people who work with the council
  • Participate in student council sponsored activities/events
  • Read the afternoon  announcements! All announcements will be televised this year!

6th grade Representatives (6th graders only - 2 positions):

  • Vote
  • Voice ideas, questions, and concerns at meetings
  • Report back to the 6th grade class regarding what was discussed at meeting
  • Participate in student council sponsored activities/events
