Remote testing is available!
Remote testing at HCS Adult Education
Adult Education, GED or High School Diploma Students are required to take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) placement test and the WIN Career Readiness test to earn a certificate.
The TABE assessment is an entry level/ placement test which consists of Reading and Math. Allow yourself a 3 hour window to complete this assessment.
The WIN certification consists of Reading, Math and Locating Information. For applicants of employment with the Horry County School District, an additional part is required; Business Writing. Allow yourself 3-3.5 hours to complete this certification.
If you want to enroll in our English as a Second Language (ESL) program you are required to take the Best Plus Assessment. The Best Plus entry level/ placement test is a verbal exam. Allow yourself approxiamatley 30 minutes to complete this assessment.
You may do the above assessments at either of our base sites; Conway or Myrtle Beach. Or you may make an appointment to do it remotely from the convenience of your home.
Prospective GED or High School Diploma students: If you are 16 or 17 years of age, you must be approved into the Adult Education Program. See our underage requirements Underage Forms/ Requirements
