Students from TOMS place in Top 10 in the Nation for National History Day Competition!
Please join us in congratulating Leanna French and Rebecca Duelley from Ten Oaks Middle School!
These young ladies placed in the TOP 10 in the nation for the Junior Group Exhibit category during the National History Day (NHD) National Competition. This is no small feat
as all 50 states, as well as international students, submit tens of thousands of projects each NHD season. This is also the first time Ten Oaks Middle School (TOMS) has placed in the top 10 at the national level. TOMS was the ONLY entry from South Carolina to place in any of the top 10 categories or receive a special award. Leanna and Rebecca also won the “Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers Prize” given by the National Endowment for the Humanities!
Their exhibit is also being displayed at the Smithsonian Museum of American History!
Congratulations once again to Leanna French and Rebecca Duelley! A special thank you to Mr. Cameron Lentz, Mrs, Sarah Bell, Ms. Mary Lynn Ashby, and Mr. Mike Merolle for supporting all our students through their National History Day project journey this year.
