HCS Teacher Receives University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award
October 28, 2022
Will Chappell, a teacher for Horry County Schools, received the University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award. Mr. Chappell teaches US Government, Economics & Personal Finance, and Leadership Development at Early College High School.
The Outstanding Educator Award has existed for more than three decades. Each year, newly admitted UChicago students have the opportunity to reflect on their time in school and nominate an educator who played a significant role in their education, who made a positive impact in their lives, and whose influence has brought them to where they are today.
The Outstanding Educator award recognizes teachers who are exceptional in their field and role models for all students. All award winners receive a commemorative award, certificate, and letter that includes details from the student who nominated them. The award ceremony will be held remotely on Tuesday, November 8.
