HCS Health Science Teacher Wins State Award

Dana McCallum, a teacher at the Academy for the Arts, Science & Technology, has been recognized by the SC Health Science Education Association as the SC Health Science Teacher of the Year. The award recognizes her significant contributions toward innovative, unique, and novel health science programs that are serving to improve and promote career and technical education.
McCallum holds numerous certifications in both emergency medicine and education, and she teaches Health Science 1, Health Science 2, and Clinical Studies as part of AAST’s Pre-Medicine and Health Science major, which is one of several programs of study that the school offers. Other majors available at AAST include Advanced Art, Aerospace Engineering, AP Capstone, Biomedical Science, Computer Science, Entertainment Technology, Clean Energy with Environmental Engineering, Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Informatics, Innovations in STEM with Core Engineering, Networking, and Web & Digital Communications.
