Ten Oaks Middle Mock Trial Team Members Named Most Effective Witnesses and Attorneys at State Competition

Congratulations to the Ten Oaks Middle School mock trial team! They took the stand on December 2 and 3 in Columbia at the 2022 SC Bar Middle School Mock Trial State Competition, where the top 12 middle school teams in South Carolina competed.

Four of their team members received special recognition for their performance there. Peers and judges named Bryson Gibson and Amelia Miksa the most effective witnesses, while Charlotte Ward and Caleb Zahn were named the most effective attorneys.

The 14-member team qualified for the state competition after placing third at the Georgetown Regional Competition on November 5. The team took sixth place overall in the state competition.

All of the students are new to the in-person mock trial competition format this year. However, their dedication, enthusiasm, and ownership of their roles in their portrayal of State of South Carolina v. Cy Miles were keys to their success.

Special thanks to Mrs. Taylor Wims, Mr. Michael Frazzini, Mr. Cameron Lentz, and Mr. Michael Tomasko for encouraging and supporting this opportunity for our students!

Great work, silver foxes! Success—nothing less!
