The Myrtle Beach High School Navy JROTC, also known as the Seahawk Battalion, ranked #2 at the NJROTC Area Six Academic, Athletic, & Drill Championships. The Seahawk Battalion hosted the competition on February 25, 2023. The regional championship included the top 12 NJROTC schools in North and South Carolina. The Seahawk Battalion drill team will compete next at the Navy National Academic, Athletic, & Drill Championships from March 31 through April 1 in Pensacola, FL. Only 24 of the 674 NJROTC schools in the United States and abroad are eligible to compete in the National Championship. This is the fourth time in the past few years the Seahawk Battalion qualified to compete nationally. The Seahawks previously competed nationally in 2019, 2021 (Virtual), and 2022. Last year, the Seahawks Armed Exhibition Team ranked 5th in the National NJROTC Academic, Athletic, & Drill Championships.
