HCS Teacher Named Einstein Fellow

Congratulations to Denise Wright, a science teacher at Ocean Bay Middle! Denise has been chosen to join 15 other K-12 STEM educators from 14 different states to participate in the 2023-24 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship. 

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science, this program provides a unique opportunity for these teachers to serve in the national education arena. Fellows spend eleven months working in Federal agencies or in U.S. Congressional offices, applying their extensive knowledge and classroom experiences to national education program and/or education policy efforts. At the end of the Fellowship, educators are equipped with access to a national network of education leaders and programs, a better understanding of the challenges and possibilities in STEM education, and a renewed passion for teaching, ready to make significant contributions to the educational community.
