AAST and Carolina Forest High Named PLTW Distinguished High Schools
Congratulations to Carolina Forest High and the Academy for the Arts, Science & Technology (AAST)! Both schools have been recognized by Project Lead the Way (PLTW) as 2023-24 PLTW Distinguished High Schools. This recognition means the schools are empowering students to thrive in an evolving world and achieving exemplary results from their PLTW programs. Only a few hundred high schools across the U.S. receive this honor each year.
PLTW is a national nonprofit organization that aims to make every student in every grade STEM successful. PLTW provides rigorous, nationally recognized STEM programs — including Computer Science, Biomedical Science, and Engineering — that train students to use 21st-century skills to solve hands-on, real-world problems. These programs prepare today’s students for the careers of tomorrow by incorporating STEM skills into their learning and by building students’ collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills so they can be ready for whatever path they take.
