Dr. Eddie Ingram Appointed as Interim Superintendent of Horry County Schools

Dr. Eddie IngramThe Horry County Board of Education appointed Dr. Eddie Ingram as the interim superintendent of Horry County Schools on May 15, 2024, and he will begin his employment on July 1, 2024.

Dr. Ingram’s 42-year-long career in education has been spent mainly in North Carolina, including as superintendent of Franklin County Schools from 2009 to 2013. He served as superintendent of Darlington County School District beginning in 2013 and then Berkeley County School District starting in 2017 before retiring in 2021. In his retirement, Dr. Ingram has served as the interim superintendent of Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools in North Carolina and the interim executive director of Foxborough Regional Charter School in Massachusetts. He received his doctorate in education from East Carolina University in 2002.

The Horry County Board of Education is currently in the process of receiving proposals from superintendent search firms. These firms will have the opportunity to present their proposals to the Board at an upcoming meeting. Following this, the Board will select and engage a firm to assist with a comprehensive national search for the District’s next superintendent.
