Wilson to represent South Carolina in the United States Senate Youth Program

Ward Wilson is going to Washington. The Socastee High School senior is one of two South Carolina students chosen from 10 semifinalists to participate in the week-long, 57th Annual United States Senate Youth Program scheduled for March 2-9, 2019 in Washington, D.C. Ward was selected to be a delegate by the South Carolina Department of Education because of his outstanding academic achievements and his commitment to community service. 

Wilson will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Hearst Foundation and will spend a week experiencing our national government in action, hearing major policy addresses by senators, cabinet members, and federal agency officials. He will participate in meetings with the President and a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Wilson is a Socastee High School senior and is the son of Kelly and Rodney Wilson.
